It's that time again, and the spirit of Christmas has taken over our house in full force {aka, I say, "you'd better be good so Santa brings you presents," at least fifteen times a day}. Okay, maybe that's not technically the Christmas Spirit.
Either way, I love taking in all of the sights, sounds, and smells with my husband and children. Last year my mom sent me a few of her old Christmas decorations, and bringing them out this past week has brought out my holiday nostalgia. This one, in particular, means a lot to me. I remember absolutely loving it as a child. I'm still not sure how she made it, but I'm hoping that in a few years, I'll also get the church that she made as well. {yes, that's a hint, mom}
Oh...and if any of you are saying, "24 days?" Just know that I debated for a long time. I'm still not sure if that's right.

I don't know if I should ever tell you how I made it or just let you steep in the wonder of it all. It looks so cute in the picture. Why did I give that away again? KIDDING. The pic brought back waves of Christmases past and the anticipation of Christmas morning, bleary eyed from late night "some assembly required." I wouldn't take a million dollars for any one of those years spent all together kicking thru the "happy disaster." John Denver and the Muppets "A Christmas Together" will always be my all time favorite holiday album and will bring back memories of decorating trees with new ornaments and arguing with you over who the Santa Nut Cracker actually belongs to. (forget I found your name on the box...it's mine...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.) Was it all as wonderful as I remember or has time and missing it so much memorialized it into perfection? In either case, all the passing time and all the changes in the world can never take back those wonderful times and the memories that will live on forever making everything else eclipse by comparison.
I have used that line a few hundred times these last few days, too. :) Today, happily, it worked very well! We will see what tomorrow brings. Good luck with your cuties. I love your blog...it makes me smile!
