Over the years, my sleeping habits have changed. I don't dream nearly as much as I used to since I usually spend several hours awake in the middle of the night. Last night I was up from 3-6. But from 6-7:30, I had one of my recurring dreams. I dreamt that I ran into an old friend from high school, and he was crying because he was working at a car wash to support the son that his girlfriend had kidnapped. (Yeah - NOT the recurring part, more the soap opera part). So then in mid conversation my teeth started falling out. I just kept apologizing to him for my gross behavior, and explaining that this wasn't usually what my teeth did. What the...?
There are two more dreams that I get all the time: the braces dream (see THIS post to understand) and the dream where I'm married to someone else. It's usually to people that I don't like much, and I keep thinking, "Man, HOW did I get into this?" Then I'll remember that I'm actually married to Rob, and that we have three kids together. I have to explain this to my new husband, and try to find out where I left my other family.
My dreams baffle me, but even MORE bizarre in my opinion, are my husband's dreams. I swear the guy doesn't dream about people at all. He dreams in giant lizards, dragons and dinosaurs. And he's ALL OVER THE PLACE. He kicks, he yells, he fights, and he casts spells in the middle of the night. I remember one night when we were first married he did that thing where you're just dozing off (and then in your dream you trip or fall or something) and jump. I asked, "Woah, what was that? " He said, "I was dodging a dragon." I think I made fun of that for the first four years of our marriage.
Thinking about all of this made me wonder what other people dream about. Anyone else's teeth falling out? Are you living in the Land of the Lost? Maybe it's just us. Maybe we are just that crazy.

I am right there with you . . .only mine are really scary, from falling off cliffs to witnessing murders. When I am married to someone else, I am usually pregnant with their child or something. Once, when Dave was dozing off he confessed that he "wanted a hot blonde" and during a prayer once he prayed that we would be able to find the red shirt in Spanish Fork . . . We still haven't found it.
Im not exactly to sure...but i heard dreaming about teeth falling out means your prego!!! hahaha My dreams are really soap opera and really detailed too, they are funny!
Joel dreams in duck hunting fashion lately. He was making goose calls the other night in his sleep, but I was too tired to question his behavior.
My dreams have been totally bizare lately, but I think it's due to lack of sleep from a new baby.
I had a dream years ago involving one of my girl cousins. Every couple of months since then the memory of that dream will pop into my head at a random time during the day; I'm guessing that I probably experienced that same dream yet again the night before. Weirdo.
okay, yeah. No joke--I have falling-out-teeth dreams all the time! I HATE that feeling! ITs so terrible!
We must have married brothers. I try to talk back to Brett in his sleep but never say the right thing; except once when I said "it's going to get you", he got so freaked out. I hardly ever remember my dreams.
I found this on dream moods.com:
"To dream that you have rotten or decaying teeth, forewarns that your health and/or business is in jeopardy. You may have uttered some false or foul words and those words are coming back to haunt you.
To dream that your teeth is gleaming, signifies happiness and fulfilled wishes.
To dream that you are brushing your teeth, signifies your level of confidence, struggles and aggressiveness. You need to look out for yourself and your own interest. Perhaps, you feel that your standing or position is shaky."
You guys could write a book about your dreams! I don't think mine are nearly as fantastic! :)
Oh Melissa I'm going to be giggling over this post the rest of the day! I'm a pretty vivid dreamer...I had a good one the other night...I was in a room with a bunch of our Wilson cousins (Debi, Cheryl, Becca, Natalie and Cindy...I think that's all) and their spouses were sort of in the background...I was practicing the waltz with Debi when I realized that I hadn't introduced the guy I brought over. So I say "Oh, hey, this is Dave" and immediately he's surrounded by the girls and the first thing out of Cindy's mouth is "Cookie, Moon Unit, The Unit and The Boy" and I just know (you know how in dreams you don't have to be told stuff as much as just KNOW it, deep down in your gut?!) So I just KNOW that she's telling this guy the names of her dogs, by way of introduction! The look on his face was priceless, and slightly confused, and I LITERALLY woke up LAUGHING!!! Absolutely giggling, and I couldn't stop! I'd try to compose myself but would be tossed into fits of laughter every time I'd think of the dog name list....Cookie, Moon Unit, The Unit and The Boy....what kind of names are those for dogs!!!???
Hahah this post had me laughing out loud! I can honestly say I've never had the 'teeth falling out' dream before, but if I have one tonight, I'm blaming YOU. I love the 'dodging dragon' story too.
For the first year of Maddy's life, Tom would always yell out in the middle of the night, "Don't roll over Ang! You'll squish Maddy!" Yeah, Maddy never EVER slept in our bed. Talk about giving someone a complex... Apparently my husband was afraid I was going to crush our child with all of my leftover baby weight.
OK...here goes. My craziest dream ever. I lived in the desert...not in a house, but just out on the sand. I had all of my furniture arranged in rooms like there was a house. I was in the process of sweeping the floor, and having a hard time getting all the sand out when, lo and behold a bug starts crawling up the bunkbed. I took after it with the broom, and it yelled..."no wait, don't hit me, I'm not a cockroach...I'm just a bedbug." which makes me pause and think..."Oh." Then it hits me...I don't want a BEDBUG in there either!
NO LIE...Johnny was telling me that he always dreams of living under water. Not drowning...but just being alive underwater. SO...David has this book on dream interpretation and I decided with Johnny to get to the bottom of this. I opened to the "water" page and read all kinds of things like.."dreams of being underwater have deep spiritual meaning" and so forth and so on. After a full three pages of possible explanations, the last paragraph says, "It could also mean you have a full bladder and need to urinate." WHAT???? We almost died laughing. Deep spiritual meaning on the one hand, and a full bladder on the other. How's a person to know for sure??
According to the "full bladder" book. Teeth falling out represents feelings of insecurity or inadequacy.
Dragons are said to be the guardians of treasure and and can signify you unconscious desire to undergo an inner renewal..A fire breathing dragon is a symbol of great inner strength.
Dinosaurs...could indicate some aspect of our personality or approach that is outdated and no longer needed for survival...or it could mean you have a full bladder and have to urinate.
ps...I wrote the anonymous comment. I thought I put my name, but apparently not.
