I have a few posts sitting in my "unpublished" file...just staring me in the face. I want to publish them, but stupid Google is now charging me a monthly fee to upload pictures. You probably want to know what this new outlandish fee is, so I will swallow my pride and admit that I have been protesting blogging over a $4/month fee. Yes, you ARE a mathematician and have correctly deduced that I am pouting over a mere $48/year, but it's the principal here - not the cash.
I assumed that my blog was important enough that Google would think, "Oh my gosh! Melissa has stopped blogging! We have got to do away with this new policy!" But Mr. Google has yet to knock on my door offering his sincerest apologies, asking me to please reconsider and rejoin his amazing family of bloggers. So, moral of the story....you win some you lose some. Blog anyway.
So, the next time I sit down at my computer, and choose to post those blog entries just waiting to be published, I am going to suck it up and give google my soul.
But - back me up here....just for mere validation purposes. Having to pay for something that used to be free sucks, right? EVEN if it's only $4/month?

I went into my picasa account and deleted a bunch of old photos and then I was able to keep blogging at least for the time being . . . try it!
You're so naive, Melissa. There is no "Mr. Google."
How about you start charging people to have their picture posted on your blog! That way it will be no cost to you at all. In fact, if you post a picture with multiple faces on it, this could become a money maker! So tell your kids to start saving their allowances and instead of posting the cutest pictures, just post the ones that can afford to be published.
And may I be the first one to say that I am opting out of your outlandish scheme, as I really don't even like to look at pictures of me . . .
And by the way Mr Un, I believe . . .
How are they charging that much??? I pay $5.00/year. You should look into it. I wouldn't pay $4/mo either.
I just added Tom as an admin on my blog and use his email address to upload pics. It's a storage limit per email address, not per blog. I will never pay for blog storage. That is absurd.
I haven't run into this problem yet... i'm sure they'll "catch" me soon???
No..I totally agree with you. However, I love your blog so much I'd be willing to chip in to keep it going. How about publishing some of your older blogs to books then deleting them to make more storage space?? It would be great to have the books as keepsakes too.
