Best Buds

I dance, I sing, I carry, I tickle, I feed. All Rob has to do is walk through the door. Madelyn has become such a Daddy's Girl. She absolutely adores him. I think it all started when she learned to say Da-Da. Most babies will say it, and then move on to something else. Since those two sounds came out of her mouth - she knows exactly what to associate them with. The other night she put her hand on his leg, looked up at him and said "Dad." She smiled and looked away. It's not that I'm jealous - or that I don't think that he deserves all of her love - I just wish she loved me....ONLY ME. I actually love watching them together. I love knowing that they are creating such a tight bond.
She has changed so much over the past month. First of all - she is sitting up on her own. She still doesn't seem too interested in it - but she can do it. She would much rather be on the floor doing the Worm. She is so close to crawling - she gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. Second, she just cut her first tooth, and I swear it could pass as a Ginsu knife. She bit my finger, and almost drew blood. Its no wonder that teething is painful. Other than that she is still the same old chunk (50th percentile for height, and 90th percentile for weight). She is already out of her first carseat, and we're burning out the motor on her swing. We love her more and more every day - which is good, because every day there is more and more of her to love!

hi-
now you know how mom felt with you! you as a baby (and through the next few years) were a terror (or so i heard!) until i walked in the door. then you put on the big smile, turned on the charm and could do nothing wrong. it was wonderful for me, but it drove mom nuts!

So you're getting it back in spades!!! Dad is right about you turning on the charm... Your head could be doing 360's all day with foaming at the mouth till he walked in. He'd say..."Is this the child you've been telling me is posessed of an evil demon?" I'd say...this smiling kid doesn't even KNOW the one I've spent the day with.!!

This is exactly what we're dealing with at our house! Gabe screams all day - but as soon as Cory walks in the door is all smiles. And everywhere we go all I hear is, "What a happy baby! He's so quiet and good!" HA! Spend 5 minutes with us during the day, and they'd be singing a different tune......

I run into the same problem with my daughter; I never hear so much as a peep out of her when I'm home. It's disconcerting.

I can't believe that Maddie is already talking!! Marcus is still happy just babbling away. I love it though. It's funny that Maddie is so in love with her dad because Marcus is so in love with his mom. Is this where the whole daddy's girl and mama's boy thing comes from? Marcus just got his first tooth and now he's working on number two right next to it. Is Maddie's tooth on the bottom or top?
