One Month Later...

Jude is officially one moth old, and Madelyn has a new best friend. She walks around all day saying "hey little boy" or "oooooh baby." Granted she says hi to everything. This morning alone, I have heard, "hi bear" "hi little water" "hi bah-bah" "hi dada" and "hi little fishies." However, I am assuming that because Jude is her brother, she loves him the most - and her other hellos are just shallow, empty greetings. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our kids. I was not kidding in an earlier post when I mentioned that Madelyn had the world's worst morning hair. I prove that again with these photos.

Dear Blog,
Last night I went out with my friend Stefanie. We drove to Xango to decorate our husbands' work stations. On the way up Stef mentioned that she didn't like when people treated thier blogs like journals. Why would she say something like that, dear blog? I know she wasn't talking about you - at least I hope she wasn't. You truly have been my closest friend for so long...I love being able to confide in you, and really appreciate all of your support. Speaking of confiding in you, I am so excited that it's Valentine's Day. I think I may have a Valentine or two coming my way this afternoon...perhaps from - well, you? Blog - lets make it official. Will you be my Valentine? I'm sure that Rob won't mind. That way he doesn't have to get me anything! Well, I'd better get back to my homemaker duties.
Love always,
Melissa
PS. I'll leave a few pictures for your enjoyment.

Sweet Home Chicago

When I first moved to Utah, it seemed like EVERYONE was always asking, "WHERE are you from?" I remember being baffled by the snickers I heard as I answered,
"Shi-cahhh-go." I thought we all sounded the same, but I guess I was wrong. Here I am, six years down the road - laughing at my very relatives with the same thick "Polish Sah-sage" accents. I may have lost my accent, but I have not lost my Chicago Pride. I will make all my favorite Chicago foods, and cheer on Da Bears this coming Sunday. So now I ask you all to grow out your moustaches, put on your amber tinted glasses, and give a cheer for the Orange and Blue. If you're still not convinced - just watch this video...it's SURE to change your mind.

Happy day after your Birthday

Yesterday was Rob's birthday, and I didn't get a chance to blog about him - so here we go. He spent his 27th birthday at work, and came home to a wife that didn't have any gifts (I have to stay in with Jude for, pretty much, the entire winter). He'll get his gift (Nintendo Wii) as soon as we can get our hands on one. Thank you to Rob's mom who came over and let Rob, Maddie and me go to dinner. Rob ate two pounds of crab - which apparently is enough to make him a happy birthday boy. We then came home, watched some TV, and went to bed.
All I can say is that I'm glad I have a husband who still loves me after such a sad birthday. Rob - you truly are my very best friend, and the most perfect father to our kids. I love you so much. And to prove my love - I'll post this picture of what you, Maddie and Jude look like in the morning. Happy Belated Birthday!!!
