A Genuine Kopp Kid

Very few things define being a "Kopp" like a Culver hoodie - and Madelyn wears hers well.

Haircut

Maddie had her first professional haircut last week. At first she loved the "jishies" on the cape - but the fear soon took over. It took about four minutes to clean up her ends, and she screamed the whole time. Thanks Debbi (my amazing stylist) for helping Maddie's bed-head...mornings aren't nearly as bad anymore.

What do you think?

I stole this idea from a friend's blog (sorry Kat). My sister-in-law Marci isn't sure if Jude looks like Maddie. I think they look a LOT alike, but perhaps it's just me. You decide.

And then there were two...

In case you all forgot, I do have two kids now. Sorry about the lack of Jude pictures. I love the kid to pieces, but until recently they all kind of looked the same. A cute kid in a swing, cute kid on the floor, cute kid in the bouncer...you get the idea. Anyway, here are some pictures to catch you all up on the last two months.

Everything on Her Head on Vimeo

I think it's time for us to get Madelyn some real dress up clothes. She's obsessed with putting things on her head - and thanks to Rob, she wears socks on her hands...every day. I'll pass Jude on a daily basis, sitting in his swing, with his blanket folded up and his bare feet exposed - and then I'll find Madelyn wearing his socks on her hands. It was cute in the beginning, but now Jude has about 15 single socks - and I have no idea where the matching socks are.

Identical Families

Ben and Kat came by a few weeks ago, and we were able to get a few shots of our identical children. Maddie and Maggie (that gets confusing when they are here) are eight weeks apart, and Jude and Cash are one month apart. Jude and Cash are going to start a band when they get older - due to their rockstar names.

My Little Bag Lady

Maddie is obesssed with finding junk, putting it in her stroller and pushing it around. She also has a new favorite question, "I'm alright?" She thinks it applies to anything and everything that gets "hurt" - aka, falls out of the stroller. If I don't answer her immediately, she'll hunt me down, and repeat, "I'm alright?" Until I tell her that, yes - she's alright.

This particular morning - she felt it necessary to tote around two bottles, two batteries, a nursing pad, Mylicon drops, the battery cover for Jude's swing, a sippy cup and a linking block. My house is NEVER clean. And yes - that IS my purse around her neck. Again, I ask that you forgive the hair - I don't even attempt to run a brush through it until after her nap.

One Month Later...

Jude is officially one moth old, and Madelyn has a new best friend. She walks around all day saying "hey little boy" or "oooooh baby." Granted she says hi to everything. This morning alone, I have heard, "hi bear" "hi little water" "hi bah-bah" "hi dada" and "hi little fishies." However, I am assuming that because Jude is her brother, she loves him the most - and her other hellos are just shallow, empty greetings. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our kids. I was not kidding in an earlier post when I mentioned that Madelyn had the world's worst morning hair. I prove that again with these photos.

Dear Blog,
Last night I went out with my friend Stefanie. We drove to Xango to decorate our husbands' work stations. On the way up Stef mentioned that she didn't like when people treated thier blogs like journals. Why would she say something like that, dear blog? I know she wasn't talking about you - at least I hope she wasn't. You truly have been my closest friend for so long...I love being able to confide in you, and really appreciate all of your support. Speaking of confiding in you, I am so excited that it's Valentine's Day. I think I may have a Valentine or two coming my way this afternoon...perhaps from - well, you? Blog - lets make it official. Will you be my Valentine? I'm sure that Rob won't mind. That way he doesn't have to get me anything! Well, I'd better get back to my homemaker duties.
Love always,
Melissa
PS. I'll leave a few pictures for your enjoyment.

Sweet Home Chicago

When I first moved to Utah, it seemed like EVERYONE was always asking, "WHERE are you from?" I remember being baffled by the snickers I heard as I answered,
"Shi-cahhh-go." I thought we all sounded the same, but I guess I was wrong. Here I am, six years down the road - laughing at my very relatives with the same thick "Polish Sah-sage" accents. I may have lost my accent, but I have not lost my Chicago Pride. I will make all my favorite Chicago foods, and cheer on Da Bears this coming Sunday. So now I ask you all to grow out your moustaches, put on your amber tinted glasses, and give a cheer for the Orange and Blue. If you're still not convinced - just watch this video...it's SURE to change your mind.

Happy day after your Birthday

Yesterday was Rob's birthday, and I didn't get a chance to blog about him - so here we go. He spent his 27th birthday at work, and came home to a wife that didn't have any gifts (I have to stay in with Jude for, pretty much, the entire winter). He'll get his gift (Nintendo Wii) as soon as we can get our hands on one. Thank you to Rob's mom who came over and let Rob, Maddie and me go to dinner. Rob ate two pounds of crab - which apparently is enough to make him a happy birthday boy. We then came home, watched some TV, and went to bed.
All I can say is that I'm glad I have a husband who still loves me after such a sad birthday. Rob - you truly are my very best friend, and the most perfect father to our kids. I love you so much. And to prove my love - I'll post this picture of what you, Maddie and Jude look like in the morning. Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Last Friday, I had the great honor of leaving the house - yes, it was only to pick up dinner, but still - I was getting out. I went to the garage to start the car (literally gone for less than a minute) and this is what I returned to find.

More Pictures

People are always telling me that Madelyn has "great hair." I just thought that I'd post this picture so that everyone can see what we deal with EVERY morning. Yes, it's cute - but it's a disaster. Also a couple more pictures of our darling little Jude.

New Son

He's here! Introducing Jude Tyler Wilson - born January 18th at 5:03 pm. Jude weighed in at 7 lbs 14 oz, and is 19 1/2 inches long. Rob, Jude and I are happy and healthy. Madelyn is healthy - but thus far...not so happy. We'll keep our fingers crossed!
