Using Her Words

When Claire went in for her fifteen month checkup, the pediatrician hoped that she'd be able to say about five to ten words at this point.  Here's Claire's vocabulary thus far:

ball
ba-ba
babies
book
Ella
Jude
May-May (Maddie)
Dada
outside
thank you
Elmo
food
toys
shoe
socks
na-na (banana)
bye
me
go
soft
uh-oh
shhhh (with finger over lips)
arf-arf
sing

She can even sing the following chorus, "Bye bye binky, binky bye-bye."  It's from her favorite episode of Sesame Street (and by favorite - I mean the one we have on DVR)

I'm super impressed with her vocabulary - but there's one small word that seems to be missing.

MA-MA!

How in the heck are we this far along and she still won't say my name?  I've caught her babbling it a few times - in which I've rushed to her side to try to get her to say it again....but she always changes her mind and calls me ba-ba.

I'm nothing but a milk source to that kid...and I'm not even nursing!

Oh, and she also is a pro at eating purple chalk:

Gross.

BDEM:  I had a really great run this morning.  I've been struggling a bit getting back on track - but it felt great, and I could see the progress that I've made over the last couple of weeks.

Water:  60 oz

i hear my name enough times during the day that i will be ok if the babies don't say my name until they are 5. ok, not really, but I'm not really pushing it this time around.
