A TREAT FOR YOU {maybe}

As I bring my year of blogging to a close, I have been thinking a lot about all of you who have been so kind as to follow me, comment on my silly posts, and tell me that you secretly stalk my blog.  As I've mentioned in the past, I have hermit tendencies, and often feel like I'm lacking in friends. But knowing that enough of you care to take a few moments of your day to check in on our little family means the absolute world to me.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for visiting me and reminding me that I actually DO have friends!

Now, because I love you so much - I am going to send homemade monster-sized chocolate chip cookies anywhere in the continental U.S. to two of you that leave a comment on this post.  So, even if you don't normally comment - feel free to post something today.  I will use a random number generator to pick two winners - and the chocolate chip cookies will be yours.

Contest will close on Monday June 4th at 10pm, with winners announced June 5th.  That should give those of you who only pop by a couple of times per week a chance to enter as well.

Good luck, and thanks again for being my cyber friends.  This blog just wouldn't be the same without my wonderful followers!

XOXO

BDEM:  Maddie's school dance program.  I really need to get that kid into some sort of acting/singing/dancing classes.  She's so talented, and I just keep putting it off.  I'm a bad mom.

Water:  80 oz

I better enter. I've taken the month off of treats and sweets, but I might have to make an exception for those cookies. They look delicious. So what does this year of blogging coming to an end mean? My nightly stalking won't happen anymore? I hope you still continue to update. I've loved checking your blog.

Kendal says:
Me Want Cookies, Cookies, Cookies. Num Num Num.

(I only wish you were hearing his cookie monster accent while saying it).

Is it legal to enter twice from the same household?

Oooohhh...I hope I win! I love your homemade cookies and I have LOVED reading your blog every night for the past year. I'm a little sad that this is coming to an end - I guess we'll have to drive out and visit a little more often!!

I can't believe it's been a year since you started this. So many times I've thought I needed to be better and post once a week at least. That still hasn't happened. I'm just not a blogger. I think you should keep going. What are we going to do without your daily posts? You owe us pictures of your projects that you promised.
I love your cookies and never make them myself because I eat them all. So I really should win. Or at least you should bring them to the next family party. I would be ok with that too.

Even if you don't continue to blog, you should continue to write even if it's something for you kids to read years down the road. They will cherish your fun insights into their lives and will always be grateful that you did!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your lives with us.

Ooooh, say it ain't so! If all of your readers rally together and put our feet down and reject your cookie offer in exchange for another year of your blog-a-day ambrosia, would you reconsider? Yes? It's a deal! Right, guys? Yes, you guys who can all make your own cookies, right? Right?

Um, if that didn't work, then put me down for the win! The center of your chocolate chip cookies are at just that perfect doneness/not doneness. Goodness gracious.

On a different but related note (sorry for hijacking your comments), your blog posts are spectacular! I have loved having a glimpse into the lives of your very darling and talented family. If I had to define your little fam in a couple of words, I would say that you guys are completely, totally, and unconditionally loving and committed to each other. I just love you!

Remember your roots, Melissa! I represent your growing up years! Love you. ( and I'm not just saying that because of the cookie raffle!)

Mmmmmmm. Cookies. Who could pass that up??

Lisa and Doug said...

I got caught up in the fervor but I'll be honest....I just want the recipe! Dougie and I are trying to resist such indulgences at the present moment!

Pregnant and eating for two over here! Heck who am I kidding I always eat for two when it comes to cookies . . . Just ask Greg :)

Love reading what you post everyday. Even when we can't visit it makes us feel like we're still there :)

I know how well you bake, so I'm signing up for a chance to win! It's been nice getting to know you better. Your family are wonderful friends.

So, yeah, that plates of cookies looks like something this pregnant mama needs right now! :) I've enjoyed reading the blog and getting to know you better via the internet even though you live just a few streets away. Thanks for all the laughter!

Listen, sis...it's just you and me here. Nobody else can read this public post, so nobody has to know that you decided to send a cookie to your admittedly favorite brother, Dan. If not for me, maybe for Marissa?? She's really the one everyone loves, especially because her birthday is on Sunday!!!

I don't check my blog very often, but when I do, I have loved knowing there will be lots of great posts to catch up on from you! You are such an entertaining writer and a fun mom! Count me in for entering for the cookies!!!

Kim Dubois said...

Yes, please. I'll take those cookies off your hands. Or even just the recipe...

Aw, I'm so sad that your blogging-daily-for-a-year is coming to an end! I will miss it, for sure!!!

And I sooooo want to win those cookies. I can't come crash your house and eat your latest treat- since you always bake something for Rob on Friday's ;) -- but this would be a good compromise!

snickerdoodle cookies? Also, I enjoy reading your blog. It's like I still get to work with Rob and hang out with you at the same time. Did Jonny tell you the news about the Avett Brothers? I'm once again his date.

Cookies in the mail?! My boys would think they'd died and gone to heaven. I've enjoyed reading all your posts, Melissa. You've got such cute kids.

Am I too late?! It's been so fun "chatting" with you each day. You write and I talk to the computer and chuckle a bit. Sad, huh? Miss you tons...only cookies could help at this point!

We will take some cookies out this way!!

I miss the daily blog posts!! I keep checking thinking that maybe you will start again. Although I won't be able to eat the cookies, they look delicious and I'm sure that my family would love them. Hope you are well!

Dang, I think I missed the contest by a couple of hours. Oh well. We're trying to cut back anyway, though those cookies look like they're just dying to be dunked in a cup of milk and on their way to my stomach.

I totally follow your blog, and always look forward to your nightly posts. Even if they're not nightly anymore, I hope you still blog often. I'm even going to be in Utah for the entire summer, and was thinking it might be fun to get together. Kimball will be starved for some kid time, and I think he would absolutely go NUTS for your kids!
